Judy's Hand

Judy's Hand
FRONT: International & MOCA
Building on a decades-long relationship with artist Tony Tasset, Judy's Hand stands (or in this case...hands) at 21ft-long in Toby's Plaza located in Cleveland, OH. The 7-ton sculpture was sponsored by FRONT International: Cleveland Triennial for Contemporary Art and the Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland.
A scale-model of the hand of Tasset's wife, Judy Ledgerwood, the sculpture started with reverse casts of Judy's hand. The casts were then digitally scanned, engineered and scaled for sculpting.
The final sculpture was constructed using FX-foam, finished with high-durability paint and stands with the help of internal metal armatures.
