Flight Paths
Atlanta International Airport
Inspired by the Georgia forest and its indigenous birds, Flight Paths is the name given by artist Steve Waldeck to the iconic piece of integrated art adorning the 18,000 square feet of walkway at Atlanta International Airport.
Combining 2,600 metal sculptures, 24,000 LED modules, video animation, and audio; SVI led the creation of the immersive environment throughout the entirety of its 10-year construction.
Each element of Flight Paths was created in our Chicagoland shop, transported to Atlanta and subsequently installed. SVI's ability to execute projects on a stunning scale continued to shine quite literally over the course of the three-year installation which included bringing electricity down three floors to power the thousands of electrical components.
