CNC OPERATOR / PROGRAMMER
JOB DESCRIPTION 
 
As the CNC Operator / Programmer you will path files, operate and program the CNC router, cutting various types of materials including aluminum, wood, and plastics. The CNC operator is also responsible for maintaining the CNC dept and assisting and working with the design and carpentry departments. 
 
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES 
 
  • Translate 2D and 3D design renderings from CAD programs (Autodesk) into CNC CUT files for routing. 
  • Identify, assess and select materials to be used for project components. 
  • Operate the CNC router - select speed, depth, passes, offset, etc. to correctly and accurately cut and produce project components. 
  • Manage and maintain the CNC department and equipment. 
  • Manage, organize, and inventory materials and router tooling. 
  • Keep a clean and organized work area.
  • Assist other departments and projects as needed. 
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE 
  • 3+ years' experience operating a CNC router and managing a CNC department for a construction, fabrication or similar company. 
  • Knowledge of specialty construction and custom cabinetry methods. 
  • High school diploma required. 
  • Associate's, vocational, trade school or equivalent degree or education relating to CNC operation preferred. 
  • Ability to manage, prioritize and execute CNC tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, custom construction and fabrication environment.
