EXHIBIT CARPENTER
JOB DESCRIPTION
Specialty construction and fabrication company needs a full-time experienced shop craftsman, finish carpenter and fabricator with attention to detail for custom wood fabrication, trade-show display, cabinet, and exhibit construction. The candidate should be proficient in finish carpentry and have millwork experience. Must have own basic tools, driver’s license, and reliable transportation.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Construct and install museum and trade show exhibit structures, sculpture armatures, framework and cabinetry from wood, plywood, and fiberglass, using hand and power tools.

Confer and collaborate with project and production managers and designers to assess, improve and optimize structural feasibility, integrity and efficiency of designs and projects.

Cut, assemble, and fasten parts to construct framework, panels, shelves, and other exhibit components of specified materials, using hand and power tools.

Assemble and install structures and products at on-site project locations and work with on-site management and installation personnel to ensure efficiency of project installations.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE

Minimum of five years’ experience working in a production and fabrication environment, building custom exhibits, cabinetry, armatures, and framework.

Strong woodworking skills including cabinetry, casework, trim, millwork, laminating and some acrylic and metal fabrication.

Able to read and build from construction drawings, sketches and scale drawings for display and exhibit structures, such as framework, fixtures, booths, and cabinets.

Experienced with all woodworking tools and machinery.

Must be an active team player with good leadership qualities and the ability to motivate and direct co-workers.

Must be able to prioritize work against tight timelines and perform under pressure.

Able to perform manual labor such as bending, and lifting objects up to 50 lbs.
