Specialty construction company is looking for a full-time welder experienced in custom metal fabrication and exhibit and sculpture design and construction. Must be able to MIG and TIG weld steel and aluminum. Must have own basic tools, welding helmet, gloves, apron, and reliable transportation. 
  • Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.  
  • Cut, assemble, and fasten parts to construct metal framework, sheeting, and other exhibit components of specified materials, using hand and power tools.   
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, flux-cored arc, plasma arc, shielded metal arc and resistance welding.  
  • Assemble and install structures and products at on-site project locations and work with on-site management and installation personnel to ensure efficiency of project installations.   
  • Confer and collaborate with project and production managers and designers to assess, improve and optimize structural feasibility, integrity and efficiency of designs and projects.  
  • Minimum of five years’ experience working in a production and fabrication environment, making custom exhibits and sculpture.  
  • Must be able to accurately weld tube, pipe, and plate.  
  • Able to read and comprehend construction documents, sketches, and scale drawings for temporary or permanent displays, exhibit structures and sculptures, such as framework, fixtures, armatures, booths, and cabinets.  
  • Must be able to use math to solve problems pertaining to welding functions.  
  • Must be an innovative, creative, and resourceful thinker with good problem-solving skills.  
  • Must be able to prioritize work against tight timelines, operate with a sense of urgency, and perform under pressure.  
  • Must be an active team player, possess good leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and direct co-workers.  
  • Able to perform manual labor such as bending, and lifting boxes up to 50 lbs.
