3D CAD DRAFTSPERSON
JOB DESCRIPTION
Develop drawings, sketches and renderings that articulate the client’s vision of the project, and aid in the bidding process. Define and interpret procedures, materials, hardware, methods, specifications, textures, finishes and pertinent parameters of a project. Work with project estimators and managers to refine the final products in order to meet the client’s objective, budget and schedule.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review projects with clients, estimators, project managers and sub-contractors.
- Develop drawings, sketches, and renderings to communicate designs for
approval, construction, and installation.
- Make job site visits to measure, evaluate, and determine project specifications.
- Work and coordinate with the job estimator, manager and subcontractors associated with
the project to establish and review project details.
- Prepare complete design elevations for bidding.
- Prepare elevations and samples for client approval and shop reference.
- Create material take off lists and drawings for CNC parts.
- Advise project managers and department leads on correct construction methods,
specifications and materials.
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience designing and drawing for one or more of the following
specialty construction industries: museum exhibits, tradeshow displays, public art
and amusement parks.
- Must have previous experience with millwork and knowledge of high-end
carpentry and cabinetry methods.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and 3D CAD design, Autodesk Inventor proficiency
preferred, but not required.
- Ability to take direction and manage high-pressure and deadline-driven projects
and tasks.
